Self introduction
     My name is Minori Fukuya. My hometown is Hitoyoshi city It is so nice city. My mothers name is Michiko she is a special mom. My fathers name is Shinichi he is a good dad. I have a sister her name is Nozomi she is a funny girl. And I have a brother his name is Shirusu. He is a shy boy. I love my family and my familiy love me too.

My favorite comic
     My favorite comic is Gokinjo Monogatari. This comic is love story on high school and comedy. Heroin is Miwako. She is student of fashion’s high school. Her school is “Yazagaku”. It is very fashionable school. Her love is Tsutomu. He also is student of Yazagaku. And they have known each other since they were children.

My favorite song
      My favorite song is “Somebody That I Used To Know” for Gotye feat Kimbra. This song is very sad music. I like Gotye’s voice and how to sing. When I listen to this song I’m made feel sad by this song. I think Gotye has an ability of expression. So I like him!

First classes

     Monday’s first class is Writing 3. This class is not easy to pass. I couldn’t pass this class last year. Wednesday’s first class is listening 3. This class is easy class but I didn’t pass it last year. Thursday’s first class is how to teach English. This class is very interesting class and I like it.

Golden week plans

     My golden week plan was nothing because I had to work my part time job. I’m so sad bat my child foot friends came to PARCO to meet for me. It was long time no see very much. I was very glad. And my family came to my apartment’s room from Hitoyoshi city. So I wasn’t lonely. My golden week made met my like persons to me a lot.

 

Food/eating habits

     My eating habits are two rules. First, when I eat a lunch, I eat salad first, soup is second, and main dish and rice in turn. Second, when I eat a lunch, I drink just green tea. When I eating, tea, coffer, coke, and other drink are bad drink. I think that these are not congenial to Japanese dish. These are my rules.

 

How I study English

     On Monday, I write sentence of English when I take writing 3. And I speak English when I take speaking 3. On Wednesday, I watch the movie “the Trueman’s Show” when I take listening 3. In my free time, I write my diary on my blog. And I readin a comic of English. I want to study English of TOIEC. And I have to make a lot of free time.
 

My other class
     I take classes that how to teach English. It are classes to teach English for high school student. So I want to be English teacher. But I’m not good at English. First, I have to study English to myself. These Classes teachers are Mr. Takaki and Mr. Hayashi. They are very interesting teachers so I really like them. Mr. Takaki teach what how to teach English on Kmamoto University. I take it.

Foreign countries
     I really like thing of foreign countries. Especially liking country is the United States.  I think the U.S. is freedom. I went to Minnesota in the U.S. on last summer vacation for a month. I experienced a lot of thing. I was surprised a human nature of American people. It was very kind. I liked the U.S. more and more. I want to go to the U.S. again. But I want to go to other place in the U.S. next time.

My favorite movies
     My favorite movies are two movies. The first is “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. It is a stop motion animation which is made by taking a lot of pictures. So it is very slenderness. Jack is a hero and Sally is heroin in the movie. The second is “James and The Giant Peach”. It is also a stop motion animation. It is a story which a boy and friends go to New York by very giant peach.

Using the computer
     I use my computer when I want to watch the web page and You Tube and niko niko do-ga. Niko niko do-ga is very interesting web page. I very love watching niko niko do-ga. I watch an animation on niko niko do-ga because I like an animation very much. I like Shingeki no Kyojin. It is Japanese animation. In English, Shingeki no Kyojin is Attack on titan. I read this comic to use a computer. And I use my computer when I doing my blog and English central. And using my computer I see my albums.

About my keitai
     My cell phone is iPhone5. It is very easy to use. I had some likely points. At the first, I can take a picture anytime anywhere by this iPhone5. I like travel so I want to make many memories. My cell phone is the perfect cell phone for such me. My memories are kept forever by taking a photograph. At the second, my cell phone is able to manage my schedule. I shouldn’t write my schedule on my memo notebook. The fact is very comfortable. So I really like my cell phone.

About blogging
     I am writing my diary on my blog. But I don’t like showing my private. I am very shy. I posted many essay and many book reviews. I was very tired. It was hard to me. But I can’t pass writing 3 without doing my blog. I am troubled with the contents of the blog every day. I am just working and studying every day so I can’t write a thing of interest. I think it is very sad. I want to write a thing of interest more and more. My blog is really boring. I am not good at write a blog.

Vacation plans
     My summer vacation plan is a great plan. I never go back to my home town in university’s summer vacation. But this summer, I am going to go back my home town. I am very glad. I want to meet my family as soon as possible. And I want to eat the meal cooking by my mother. My mother and father was the cook. So they are good at cook anything. I will go to my high school in this summer vacation. I have to meet my teachers at the high school. Because I must be given an informal consent of student teaching.

 My favorite animation
     My favorite animation is Shingeki No Kyojin. It is a Japanese animation and the most popular in Japan now. This story what A boy called Ellen attack on titan. This animation’s heroin is Mikasa. Mikasa is Asian beauty girl and very strong girl. Mikasa fight titans to help her Ellen. Mikasa is Yandere. Yandere is about girl’s human nature type that heavy love for a boyfriend. Japanese really love a character the girl like Mikasa’s Yandere. Of cease, I also like that type girl. Shingeki no Kyojin is loved my friends. It is thing of good very much. I am glad.

アメリカと日本の学生の通学時のファッションの違いと、その違いから見た国民性を考察する。アメリカと日本の私立大学に通う学生にアンケートをとり、ファッションに対する意識を調査した。すると

 

Introduction

I introduce about the national traits judging from a fashion. The trigger when I thought want studying in is one day. I stayed in the U.S. for a month in last summer vacation. It was so fun! I could get a lot of nice memories. I had attending Bethel University in Minnesota. One day, when I go to school, my host mother says “Hey Minori!!!!!! DON’T wear the high heeled shoes!!!!!!!!!!!” I said “o……oh. OK, OK! wakatta!! ” I didn’t know why I was told so, but I changed my shoes. I observed American students from that day. American students often wear simple clothes. On the other hand, many Japanese are dressed with a decoration. I had a question then. Why American student’s plain clothes are simple? I thought there is a secret. So I took the statistics by a questionnaire in America and Japan. I asked four questions. I looked for the fashion conscious of students in America and Japan using the Internet and library also.

Question 2: When do you choose your clothes, do you listen to your friend's advice?

Question 3: When do you choose your clothes, Are you conscious of other people?

Question 4: How did you know clothes that match you?

 

In Japan

Japanese students is attending to school and wearing a uniform. So when many Japanese people entered university, they have an interest in fashion and are released from the uniform. This is a theory that appears in the “Yumiko Hattori Author: Conscious and current status of college students fashion” Also, a look at Japanese fashion magazines, fashionable student who has been published in the corner of the fashion snap. They incorporated trendy fashion item, I think Japanese student’s fashion is very fashionable. And many Japanese are dressed with a decoration. Japanese students fashion does not change young people fashion to see in the city, I could see even epidemic there. Japanese students are fashionable in the same way as when you go to the city.

90% of Japanese students answered YES about Question 1, and almost Japanese answered YES about Question 2 and 3. In Question 4, "My friends says it match you." was the most frequent answer," My friends and family help me choose." answers were many second. I find to tend from this questionnaire that Japanese students think important himself from conscious of others. Japanese seems to tend be enjoying the fashionable to worry about the eyes of others.

I think that Japanese students tend to be slipped in the Japanese population because Japanese students are conscious of other people. In other words, Japanese students do not like "heresy" Japanese students might have found their identity by being in the group. Japanese students may have thus relieved. Japanese dressed trendy fashionable item, They are not strange when viewed from the others, because they do a thing like a fashion magazine's model. Japanese students will not be left out if the magazine to imitate. Japanese students are dressed to suit the surroundings along the epidemic. And Japanese students can get a sense of security and thus become familiar with the group. I think this is a sign of collective consciousness. In addition, there is that tend the Japanese are not good at self-assertion and a strong lock-step mentality.

 

In America

Most schools do not have uniforms in America. So American students not interested in a fashion. There are some students who interest in fashion, it is only a minority of the whole. American student’s basic style is denim pants, sneakers and t-shirts but when they go to the city, they are fashionable.

35% of American students answered YES and more than half of American students answered NO about Question 1, 60% of American students answered YES and 40% of American students answered NO about Question 2, 55% of American students answered YES and 45% of American students answered NO. In Question 4, "I like myself wearing it." was the most frequent answer," I feel confidence while wearing it" answers were many second. I find to tend from this questionnaire that American students think important himself from conscious of himself.

American students tend to emphasize their own thinking and feeling. Tend to be dressed that they are so easy to move at school. Because American students do not care about the eye around, they do not do fashion trendy. It is very simple clothes. However American students do not mean that it does not at all fashionable. When American students go to town or party on the weekend, they are very fashionable. They decide the fashion of that day voluntarily. I think Americans are very good at self-assertion.

 

Conclusion

     In these studies, I was able to grasp the trend and characteristics of each student.

Japanese students are conscious of other people, respect opinions of others and no good self-expression. In other hand, American students don't be conscious of other people and respect the opinion of their own　and good at self-expression.

Originally, Japan is said to be the country of the group mentality. It is that Japanese are humble and conscious population. On the other hand, America is said to be the country of individualism. Americans strongly Assertive, tend not to worry about the eyes of others.

 

In other words, American students are strongly Assertive, has established an identity. And Japanese students is easy to be brainwashed to　opinions of others because they don't has firm ego. And has cooperativeness and humble heart. American national trait is Individualism, Japanese national trait is Group mentality. I think tend to the national trait of the two countries has affected students fashion.
